Ford Motor Company Australien baute den Ford Capri MkI von 1969 bis 1972
in ihrem Werk in der Vorstadt von Homebush in Sydney.
Der Ford Capri MkI wurde für den australischen Markt am Anfang mit dem 4-Zylinder Kent OHV Motor angeboten.
1969 in der Version 1600GT, 1969-1972 als 1600 Deluxe oder XL.
Immer mit manuellem oder automatischem Getriebe.
1970-1972 wurden fast 2'460 Ford Capri mit dem Ford Essex 3.0 Liter V6 Motor ausgestattet,
und als Version 3000GT 4-Gang handgeschaltet auf den Markt gebracht.
In den gleichen Jahren 1970-1972 baute man ca. 550 Ford Capri 3000GT mit Automatikgetriebe.
Australien importierte von England 1970-1972 ca. 3'000 » Capri Mk I 3000.

Im November 1972 endete die Produktion des Ford Capri MkI in Australien mit insgesamt ca. 15'000 Fahrzeugen.
1973 importierte Ford Australien noch ca. fünfzig Ford Capri MkI RS3100.

From 1970 to 1972, almost 2,460 Ford Capris were equipped with the Ford Essex 3.0-litre V6 engine
and launched on the market as the 3000GT version with 4-speed manual transmission.
During the same period, 1970-1972, approximately 550 Ford Capri 3000GTs with automatic transmission were built.
Australia imported approximately 3,000 Capri Mk I 3000s from England between 1970 and 1972.
